Royal AM chairperson and Def Jam Africa artist Andile Mpisane released a teaser for his upcoming single titled Makhwapheni. He also said he would be releasing the single soon. In his teaser, he challenged Mzansi to make similar dance moves to his forthcoming song on Instagram.

Makhwapheni teaser

After hearing the tiny teaser, most of his fans agreed the song has a lot of potentials. Andile made it entertaining by making the teaser a video of himself casually dancing to his music in a club. Already the beat is groovy, and it catches the ear. One of the Mzansi celebrities who caught on to the sound is the talented Uncle Vinny. He said the song would be a hit, waiting for the release. When one of his followers told him to stop making music, Andile calmly told him okay.

Lyrics of the song and what they mean

Firstly the word ‘makhwapheni’ is a popular South African slang word which means side chick or side boyfriend. In his song, he says, ” Wenzan’umakhwapheni wenzan,” which means what is this side person doing. He later says, “Mbambeni mthinteni mbambeni myekeni”, which means hold that person as far away as possible.

Lyrics deciphering

As a newly wedded man, his song could mean he is faithful to his wife. He doesn’t want any external people outside his marriage to worm themselves in. His music is most likely to be a way of telling his wife that he is only hers. Of course, as an artist, he had to convey that message in a very groovy way.

Shauwn Mkhize enjoys the song.

Andile’s mother, the entrepreneur Shauwn Mkhize is a fan of the song. She has proven time and time again always to support her children’s dreams. On Mother’s Day, she enjoyed the music with Andile and his friend Shaun Stylist. As a mom, she is a fan of everything he does.

The first single he will release as a Def Jam Africa artist.

Makhwapheni is the first song he will release with Def Jam Africa Records. Before the song he was about to release, Andile didn’t have much musical material. He recently released some music with the gqom duo Distruction Boyz, Dj Tira and Dladla Mshunqisi. His song Ubala is still a no show. Perhaps he’s waiting to release the song with his album or E.P
