Skeem Saam has become one of the most watched Soapies in Mzansi, period! Every night the stories told by the creative team of writers combined with the excellent delivery by the actors are truly exceptional.
It looks like the South African Film and Television Awards agree. Skeem Saam has been honoured with 5 nominations this year.
In the Best Actor, Best Actress, Best supporting actor, Best Achievement in Sound and Best achievement in Script Writing in a TV Soapie/Telenovela.
Fans of the show will be very happy to know that some of their favourite actors have received the nod, and they deserve it.
And the nominees are
Best actor in a TV soapie
1. Putla Sehlapelo who plays your favourite Meneer Alfred Magongwa, received a nod for the Best Actor in a TV Soapie. He goes against who plays Bonang on Scandal.
2. Best Actress in a TV Soapie
This one goes to none other than, Mrs Maputla. Shoki Mmola go the nod for playing the scheming Celia on the Soapie. She goes against Manama Ranaka who plays Lucy Diale on Generations The Legacy as one of the nominees in the same category.
3. Best Supporting Actor in a TV Soapie
Sergeant Peterson takes this nomination on Skeem Saam. Mortimer Williams deserves this nomination for his charismatic performance and comedic timing against Lehasa played by Cedric Fourie. It wouldn’t be Skeem Saam without him.
4. The Soapie received a nod for their son’s department as well.
5. The Scriptwriters of the show also receive a nod for their amazing and cutting-edge storytelling. These guys are really the engine of this story.
The SAFTA’s are the highest honour in the entertainment industry in Mzansi and Skeem Saam definitely deserved a few spots on these awards.
The awards are expected to take place at the first weekend of September 2022. This event will be a two-day event and SABC3 together with Mzansi magic will air this show.
This will be the 16th anniversary of this award show and on their Insta page, it says this will be a lavish event.
The theme for this year is “Frame The Future”.
