The High Court of Zimbabwe had issued a warrant of arrest for amapiano artists Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa. The Amapiano stars have been mainly trending for the wrong reasons after fellow musician Dr Malinga opened up about their working relationship. On several occasions now, Maphorisa has been found wanting for his lack of professionalism and this time, he is needed behind bars. It seemed that Maphorisa and Kabza had been gatekeepers in the Amapiano fraternity and looked invincible.
A few months ago, Kabza and Maphorisa got paid to perform in Victoria falls in Zimbabwe, and they did not show up. It looked like their arrogance had grown to dangerous levels as they thought they would get away with it. Maphorisa and Kabza had found a way of convincing fans that every bad thing people say about them is fake. They have successfully done that in Mzansi, but not with the Zimbabwe guys. The courts in Bulawayo want DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small behind bars. Will we have our Akon-like convict music from Kabza and Maphorisa when they get arrested?
High Court of Zimbabwe issues Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa’s warrant of arrest.
The stage was set for the Scorpion Kings to perform in Victoria falls on the 29th of April to open the 10th annual carnival. Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa from nowhere decided not to show up after everything was set. After taking the money from the organisers, Kabza and Maphorisa went on an expensive vacation in Cape Town, where they did Quad biking, among other activities. This has since raised questions about Kabza and Maphorisa’s professionalism.
After they failed to show up, the organisers expressed great disappointment and brought the case to the courts. After several hearings, The High Court of Zimbabwe, in a sitting in Bulawayo, issued a warrant of arrest for Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa. Kabza and Maphorisa are still silent on the issue they should have resolved long ago.

Mixed emotions rocked the social streets after the news broke out. Most of their fans in Mzansi have sided with them, blaming the Zimbabwean government for putting more effort into bettering their country than arresting Maphorisa and Kabza. Another section of fans believes this would be Maphorisa and Kabza’s most important lesson to prioritise local shows. Despite diving fans, the news is all bad news and a shame to Maphorisa and Kabza De Small.
