Famous businessman, motivational speaker and high selling business author Vusi Thembekwayo has a common assault charge set against him by his wife. She is also the mother of his three children Palesa Thembekwayo. The alleged gender-based violence crime happened in their marital home in Douglasdale on the 4th of December 2021 during the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence (GBV) campaign, which was created to raise awareness and curb violence against women and children in the country.
Palesa and Vusi’s marriage
The couple wedded in the year 2009 and had their first child in 2010; Palesa gave birth in 2012 be with their second child and gave birth to their third child in 2017. Vusi had spoken so highly about his wife, calling her the epitome of beauty and brains, also her tremendous support when he was not yet an established entrepreneur.
Wife Palesa Thembekwayo’s claims
Palesa Thembekwayo, a highly educated woman and entrepreneur, told the authorities that her husband Vusi came home and tried chasing her out of their home; upon her refusal, Vusi became angry started slapping her several times. The angry Vusi allegedly packed some of her clothes into suitcases, dragged her into his car, and drove off with her. When the vehicle was stationary at a traffic light, she ran away from him.
Vusi Thembekwayo’s claims against his wife
Vusi claims he was out of the country on the 4th of December when the alleged abuse crime transpired. He claims he came back on the 6th of December from an international business trip and found Palesa drunk; he was disappointed upon this discovery and asked her to leave their home, Palesa refused, and he packed her bags and drove her off. When asked about these abuse claims, he says he wasn’t even in the country on the 4th. Vusi also released a statement to the public claiming that he came back to the country to support his wife because of her troubles with substance abuse. Tweeps were angered by exposing his wife’s battles and also suspected he was using that as a scapegoat. Palesa Thembekwayo has been admitted as an overdose patient in the hospital more than one time.
