Musician Vusi Nova has rebranded again and is venturing into Amapiano with his new name. The talented artist, born Vusimuzi Nongxa, made another unpopular decision to change his name again.
Vusi Nova’s music journey
Vusi made a breakthrough into the music industry in the early 2010s and released his first album ‘Walk Into Light’ 2013, before releasing another album, Did it for love, in 2016. He is now jumping onto the Amapiano bandwagon like many South African singers and DJs who switched after the genre saw many artists produce hits.
Vusi’s love life
Vusi has been secretive about her love life over the years. In 2014, there were rumours that he was going to marry another man overseas. A picture of him with another man surfaced on social media, but he denied it. The new Amapiano singer revealed he has a remarkable woman in his life but did not give many details about her.
Vusi Nova and Somizi Mlhongo
Amid Somizi’s much-publicized divorce with radio host and media personality Mohale Motaung, Somizi found comfort in the hands of Vusi. The pair travelled together on many occasions, and Vusi frequented Somizi’s home.
The pair recorded a song together and performed it on Idols SA stage.
Somizi denied being in a relationship with the singer and blasted people who suggested he had moved on with Vusi. The friendship abruptly ended, and Vusi became close to Lasizwe, prompting social media users to believe Lasizwe snatched Vusi from Somizi.

Vusi Nova has changed his name to Snova, which he believes will propel him in the Amapiano genre. Fans are questioning his decision as he had become a household name in the industry.
From feedback analysed from Twitter, Amapiano listeners were neither impressed by Vusi’s change of name nor the cover image of his song.
‘Indians are making amapiano now,’ one Tweep commented on entertainment commentator Phil Mphela’s post about Vusi. ‘What is this now? I need a strong cup of coffee,’ commented one follower.
