Skeem Saam actor Kwaito ‘Clement Maosa’ opens up about suicide attempts
Skeem Saam actor Clement Maosa left Mzansi shell-shocked when he dived his suicide attempts in a candid interview with MacG during a Podcast And Chill With MacG session. The celebrated actor has revealed on several occasions that his upbring wasnt all rosy, but thanks to God, he is living the American Dream.
Maosa is best known for his on-screen character on the SABC drama series Skeem Saam. In the educational drama series, he stars as Kwaito.
In his session, he revealed that whilst growing up, and he made two suicide attempts, all of which hit a dead wall. At first, he took some hair relaxer Soft n Free and consumed it. He went on to reveal that after taking the hair relaxer, he went on to sleep so that he could peacefully die in his sleep without anyone suspecting anything.

Well, in the mix of things, he quickly got assistance as close family members noticed that he was not ok. Despite having a blackout for an hour, he was brought back to life after taking some fresh milk. However, in another suicide attempt, he tried to force himself into a head-on collision with a haulage truck whilst driving his father’s Cressida.

Maosa has it that whilst coming from the mall, he thought he could crush himself into a truck, but somehow he didn’t know what happened despite swerving into the truck’s way.

Even up to now, he can’t even recall what happened. However, despite all those failed attempts, he turned his anger and life woes into challenges and has been winning big of late.
Rags to riches story to tell
Despite life woes, Clement Maosa went on to pursue law as per the desires of his parents and guardians. After graduating from the University of Limpopo, he went on to dump the profession for acting. Undoubtedly, he went on to furnish his craze of acting with some theatre classes, and from there, the rest was history.
However, growing up, Clement has it that he had several career options but went on settling for acting despite being a soldier being his dream job. From theatre plays, he saw himself starring with some of the big names on Skeem Saam after joining as a child actor.
With an illustrious career spanning years, he has fast become one of Mzansis finest. Unconfirmed reports show he has an estimated net worth of R20 million. However, the rumour mill has it that he is a jack of all trades and master of all and has several sources of income, from ambassadorial roles to endorsement deals.
