Video: VW Polo becomes an easy target for car stripping by robbers in car parks
VW Polo owners are now afraid of parking their cars unattended or anyone on watch over them as Polo stripping has become rifle. Several videos have made rounds of VW Polo cars being stripped of their headlines in car parks.
This stripping business has become so common to an extent that thieves pounce in parking lots during broad daylight and strip off Polo parts.
However despite red flags being raised, many think VW Polo is being ignorant of the case because it makes more money through vehicle maintenance than actual sales.
A video which has since gone viral has sparked another war between citizens and the car manufacturer. In the video, the thief is seen stripping VW Polo headlines in something like 40 seconds. In the wake of this video, Polo has seen itself trending for the wrong reasons.

It would certainly be not a normal day in South Africa without an incident of crime. Better yet an incident of a car hijacking. Recently South Africa topped the charts for wrong reasons as they were listed amongst the most top corrupt and high crime rate countries in the world.

South Africa is among the world’s worst countries when it comes to crime. With South Africa being in the world’s top five for most car hijackings in a year. It is estimated that 10 cars per hour are hijacked in South Africa. Those statistics may seem to be little. However, it means that there are 240 cars hijacked in a day. Which greatly increases the chances of being hijacked while on the road.
Recently in Boksburg, a VW Polo Classic was hijacked and stripped. The car was found three hours later, expecting it to be still in shape. The hijackers had managed to strip the car of all its parts in just under three hours. What police found was the body of the car and what the robbers did not deem to be essential to strip.
Not only is the VW Polo prone to stripping but in some incidents, it has been used for getaways by thieves and shootouts. Recently armed robbers were busted in Johanessburg after a failed CIT robbery and their getaway which happened to be a VW Polo overturns after failing to negotiate a curve.
