Video: Student stages own kidnapping to avoid exams?
There is a video circulating on social media suggesting a student might have staged his own kidnapping on Google Classroom to avoid an exam. The video has however been dismissed by viewers as staged.

Initial reports suggested the student staged his own kidnapping to avoid participating in an online class or an examination.

The incident is similar to another staged video that purportedly happened during a workmates’ meeting.

Online meetings or classes have long been marred with controversy since the beginning of the lockdown.
Many South African government arms and schools moved to digital means of the meeting which has increased the incidents of misuse and hacking.

In April, Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane’s meeting was hacked and pornographic content was displayed during the meeting resulting in its adjournment
The department apologised for the incident
“We wish to apologise for the meeting being hijacked by hackers. Yet another example of technology-assisted assault. We have reconvened the meeting in a more private setting. We hope to share a recording of the meeting soon,” it said.
A Water and Sanitation Department meeting in May was adjourned after a masked person hacked into their meeting.

An alien-like looking profile of an individual logged in much to the shock of the members in the meeting. The meeting was called off.
The Incident happened after Water and Sanitation published their Zoom meeting logins on Twitter
