Former Sundowns player George Lebese scored a screamer for his USL Championship team Switchbacks. His goal was vital as it enabled his team to earn a point in a difficult came.
Lebese came on a sub in the second half for Switchbacks, and assisted the second goal and scored the equalising goal in a 4–4 all draw against Austin Bold FC.
The game went to half-time with Switchbacks trailing 4-0. The introduction of George Lebese changed the fate of the game. Switchbacks’ redemption came in the 48th minute when Christian Volesky scored, followed by Andre Lewis in the 59th minute. Volesky would score again in the 64th minutes before George Lebese completed the comeback.
George Lebese’s goal got him trending on Twitter but also fans were fascinated by the commentary.
“The “Young South African” George Lebese scores goal of the year”.
He’s 30 years old by the way.
