Social media is in chaos after Royal AM’s Andile Mpisane took the captain’s armband and lifted the Macufe cup without kicking the ball. Andile is the Chairperson of Royal AM, and he is the one who calls all the shots throughout the club. This season he decided to name himself a player, and nobody could stop him from doing what he wanted. After all, he is the son of club owner Shauwn Mkhize.
When Royal AM met Kaizer Chiefs in the Macufe cup replay, the Amakhosi lost to Andile’s team. The teams played to a 1-1 draw before Royal AM won 4-2 on penalties. About five minutes before the penalty shoot, Andile took the captain’s armband, which did not sit well with many fans. It seemed that fellow players refused to pass him the ball as he did not have any pass. The game ended, and Andile still had the guts to go and lift the trophy as the club captain. It seemed to fans that Andile took the club for granted after he took over the captain’s armband and lifted the cup. Many fans said Andile is overweight and doesn’t deserve to wear the Royal AM jersey as a player.
