Video: Dj Maphorisa buys a R1.5 million Cartier golden watch in Dubai
Themba Sekowe, popularly known by his stage name Dj Maphorisa spends R 1.5million lavishly on jewellery in Dubai.
South Africa’s most popular producer, vocalist, and DJ performed at Dubai Expo 2020 concert, which was lined up last year and got cancelled due to the pandemic, hence maintaining its 2020 name.
Earlier on, Dj Maphorisa bragged on Facebook that he was making serious money on this concert. Though he remains mum on the total amount, his spending behaviour is proof for itself.
“Madumane ke star. First time performing as Madumane, and it is in Dubai, and I’m getting serious money,” he wrote on Facebook.
Accompanied by artist Dali Wonga, Phori, as named by his legion of fans, splashed an equivalent of R2.5 million on Cartier golden jewellery in Dubai.

Maphorisa couldn’t help but gush over his newly acquired gold jewellery; though he was surprised by the cost of the watch, he seemed unfazed by the R1.5 million tag because he was set to splash a fortune on it. Evidently happy after spoiling himself, Phori posted a video thanking The Most High for the blessings.

The King of Amapiano joins a series of South African musicians who performed at the Dubai Expo, including Blaq Diamond, Dali Wonga, Mandla Ngcongwane, Zikhona Sodlaka, and Thando Thabethe.
Dj Maphorisa laments the business side of his music and gives credit to his adaptability abilities.
“I know how to make money out of music; I can rap, produce and deejay. Over my career, I am well-travelled thus mastered the business side of my music.
“I understand how the music industry works; I understand how the industry operates. I have created my own formula to make music and top charts. I created things from scratch, and I sat down and analyzed,” he said.
Maphorisa hogged the headlines after his romance with actress and artist Thuli Phongolo was splashed all over social media. Now we understand why Thuli literally threw herself on Maphorisa; the man is loaded.
