Chamisa berated supporters for preventing MDC-T top officials Thokozani Khupe and Douglas Mwonzora from attending his mother Alice Chamisa’s funeral.
There were news reports that Khupe was barred from Chamisa’s mother’s funeral in Gutu on Wednesday.
Mourners who are believed to be MDC Alliance supporters tried to chase away MDC-T leader Thokozani Khupe from Alice Chamisa’s funeral.
According to eyewitnesses who spoke to Zim Morning Post, when Khupe’s vehicles arrived at the gate, angry youths barred her from entering the Chamisa residence.
An eye witness who spoke to the publication on condition of anonymity said:
The vehicles were stopped at the gate as Khupe tried to enter the residence. The organising secretary, Amos Chibaya, intervened but to no success as the youths vowed to beat up Khupe and her aides. Chibaya had to ask Chamisa to come so that the issue can be resolved.
However, a video has surfaced online of Chamisa berating supporters on Zanu PF tendencies telling them not to harass Khupe.

On Twitter, MDC Alliance party spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere also confirmed that Chamisa had said the funeral was apolitical and open to people from all parties.
Mahere said:
Those who attended can confirm that President @nelsonchamisa announced that the proceedings were apolitical & open to all. He emphasized the need for all mourners to be respected. Members complied. Let’s allow the family to grieve without this cheap political point scoring.
