Uzalo has brought in Thembi Nyandeni, Hope Mbhele and Sandile Mfusi as new additions to their cast.
Thembi Nyandeni, as we all know, is now legendary. The woman has been in the industry for decades, and she still has some miles left in her. There is nothing she hasn’t done. She played the part of Mkabayi on Isibaya. Nyandeni will be playing a character called Njinji on the popular drama set in KwaMashu.
Hope Mbhele is another actor joining the cast of Uzalo. She will play the role of Amahle Sishi on the Soapie. The young woman is building her career slowly but surely. The irony in her story is that she started as an extra on Uzalo in 2016. She kept moving from one production to the next, and now she has come full circle as she is returning to where she started, but as a leader now.
Sandile Mfusi is also one of the new editions on Uzalo. The musician is not a newcomer in the entertainment industry, and he has appeared in Isibaya and The River, to name a few. Masandi, as he calls himself, will be playing a character called Kwanda Buthelezi.
The three will start appearing on our screens in May 2022. Uzalo is currently teasing a season 8 premiere which will come on the 4th of March.
The Soapie recently had a big photoshoot session to promote their season 8. Uzalo is one of the most-watched soapies in South Africa.
Thembi Nyandeni is welcomed by fans congratulating her on her new role and feel that she will bring authenticity to the series. Thembi is currently playing the role of MamaG on The Republic.
Thembi plays the character so well that she was trending on social media for her outstanding portrayal of the essence.
Hope Mbhele is also a welcome addition, and she is currently in a movie called No Love Lost with industry favourites like Lungike Radu, Zola Nombona and Pallance Dladla. Minnie Dlamini produced the film.
Let’s watch the space for Season 8 of Uzalo, which promises to show us flames, and we are here to see what they have prepared to dish up for us.
Uzalo goes out every weeknight on SABC1 at 20h30.
