Uzalo actress Noxolo Mathula who plays the role of Lily on the SABC 1 soap opera Uzalo is the definition of beauty with brains. In Uzalo, Lily is a descendant of the Xaba family, a police officer with a close work relationship with Detective Mondli. She stays in KwaMashu with her aunt MaDongwe, and cousins Nonka and Njeza at the Xaba house. Unlike other family members, Lily is the custodian of the law who prevents anti-social behaviour, deals with community safety concerns and resolves disputes in the KwaMashu community. She sometimes faces challenges in enforcing the law against her relatives and friends.
Lily understands the concept of being a good police officer and was once gunned down by a rogue colleague while enforcing a car hijacker arrest. She survived the close-range gunshot after being hospitalized and undergoing life-saving surgery. The KKC church also played a significant role in her recovery journey as they fasted and prayed for her.
The character of Lily is rumoured to be exiting the show Uzalo after the love of her life, Amahle, begged her to move with her to Mpumalanga. According to the teasers, Lilly will hand in her transfer request forms to Mondli, and he will sign the documents but make sure the transfer doesn’t succeed. Noxolo Mathula is a newcomer in the acting industry but is showing Mzansi flames with her extraordinary skills, winning the hearts of tons.
Actress Noxolo Mathula’s academic qualifications revealed
The star was born and bred in Kwa-Mashu, Durban and later moved to Umhlanga Rocks with the family. Noxolo Mathula was rumoured to be the daughter of former South African President Jacob Zuma after their picture at Nkandla homestead went viral.
The actress then addressed the daring rumours and revealed that Jacob Zuma was his father because she managed to attend school through his scholarships. However, he was not his biological father Noxolo lost her father in November 2022, and she took it to Instagram to announce her loss.
He hasn’t been well for a long time; at times, he gets better for a while and falls sick again. We have lost our covering and provider, but I believe he is in a better place.
Noxolo Mathula attended her matric education at Parkhill High school in Durban in 2011. She passed her matric with good grades and enrolled for tertiary education at AFDA Durban, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Motion Pictures and Live Performances in 2015.
