The University of Zimbabwe (UZ) has cancelled exams that were set to be written after 24 July 2020.
This comes follows a government directive ordering all tertiary institutions to stop face-to-face lessons and revert to online teaching.
The directive effectively meant tertiary institutions cannot have students staying in their halls of residence. Government had given tertiary institutions until Friday 24 July to comply with the new regulations.
UZ, however, announced that clinical classes and examinations for MBChB and BDS Part V students of 2019 and 2020 are unaffected and remain as previously scheduled.
The institution also announced that ‘only approved critical staff members will be allowed entry into the University Campus, effective 27 July 2020 until further notice.’
