Lungelo Mpangase is a South African actress who plays Ntokozo in Umzali alongside Dineo Ranaka and Dumisani Mbebe.She also Khethiwe in eHostela.
Lungelo is one of South Africa’s fresh faces to look out for especially in 2021. We could have met her earlier as she was cast in SABC1 Zulu drama Uselwa, in 2017 but the production was canceled amid various issues on set including mismanaged finances. Her first big role was Khethiwe in eHostela. Viewers fell in love with her but it was all short lived as her character was written off in season 1. Then came her role in Umzali. She plays Ntokozo in Umzali, a young lady who was switched at birth. It’s official – Lungelo is within!
Offscreen and online, the young actress is making a massive impact with her massive 242k following Instagram page. Lungelo Mpangisa, Umzali’s Ntokozo, is running a bursary competition on her social media platforms. The competition is not only aimed at assisting students with tuition but to also encourage aspiring actors. Clearly you are never too young to change lives.
The 25 year old Umzali’s Ntokozo has had bumps along theroadthe has had to go over. The actress is a survivor as well as she survived a car accident in 2019 that nearly cost her her life. Lungelo had a spine injury that had her off work for a couple of months. It took her some time to be able to walk again but for her this was a time to regroup and restrategize.
With the sharing of a cosy pic of her and Isibaya’s Tiisetso Thoka, rumour has it the two are a couple. While they have neither confirmed nor denied, we must say, they would be cute together.
Lungelo’s journey to our screens may not have been the easiet but she is clearly taking over.
