Two Mozambican nationals gang raped a 2 year old Mpumalanga girl.
Mpumalanga police are hunting down for two Mozambican nationals who are prime suspects in the gang rape case of a 2-year-old girl.
The suspects rented a room from the child’s parents and deserted the house when they realized that the child was taken to a doctor.
Doctor’s report confirmed that the 2-year-old girl was penetrated from both openings, vaginally and anally.
Mpumalanga police spokesperson Brigadier Leonard Hlathi said the rape happened on Monday in Mashishing, Lydenburg.
Brigadier Hlathi said the parents sub-leased their property to the suspects.
The child knew the two tenants and frequently go into their room, the rape happened on Monday while she crawled into the tenants’ room while the rest of the family were in the main house.
Later in the day, the mother went to fetch her daughter from the room and noticed that she was in pain when she tried to bathe her.
“She took the child to the hospital and the doctor confirmed that she had been raped and penetrated vaginally and anally.
“After the rape was confirmed, the matter was reported to the police. However, when police went to the room of the two Mozambican nationals had fled,” Hlathi said.
Police could not establish how long the child was in the room before the mother fetched her.
The neighbor who gave statement to the police revealed that she heard two male voices from the room with faint child cries.

“I stay next door to them and on Monday around 3pm I heard faint baby cries coming from the room which the two Mozambican nationals rented. Their voices were heard talking in a foreign language which I couldn’t understand. I just thought maybe they were playing with the child as they sometimes did.”
Asked if she saw the duo leaving premises she revealed that they acted normal and walked out in the morning and never come back.
Police could also not give information as to how long the men lived in the area.
“The child is with her parents and investigations are currently underway,” he said.
