Tresor is a multi platinum selling International artist based in South Africa. His real name is Mukengerwa Tresor Riziki and was born on the 24th of April 1987 in Goma in the Republic of Congo. He is known for his song ‘Mount Everest’ which reached number one on the Global Shazam trending list.The Tresor Biography narrates a story of an orphan who defeated all obstacles in life and ultimately became an internationally acclaimed artist.
Early Life
At the age of 10 Trésor contracted a serious bone infection which prevented him from playing with others. Therefore, he laid on the couch all day long listening to African music on the radio. He listened to music from the likes of Hugh Masekela, Pamba Wemba and Mirriam Makeba. Consequently, his love for music grew and when he was frequently taken to child care centers he began playing instruments. Later on, both of his parents died during the DRC war and he decided to pursue his musical dream. He hitch hiked and walked till he arrived in South Africa in 2007. Despite being unable to speak English, TRESOR secured two jobs working both as car guard by day and security guard by night. However, he quickly taught himself English and started waiting tables while connecting with artists in Durban.
Career
Tresor came to South Africa with a mission to become an influential artist so despite the challenges he faced he remained focused. While working as a waiter, he crossed paths with local musicians who acknowledged his talent. In 2008, he co-founded the renowned Durban Afro-Fusion band, Maisha with friends from Britain, Portugal and South Africa. Maisha the band was known for its funky Swahili lyrics and embraced by the city’s music scene. Trésor went solo in 2010 and signed with Benza and Vth Season in 2013. Benza had appriciation for Tresor’s unique song composition and he met him for the first time, he recognized Trésor’s talent instantly.

TRESOR released his debut album, VII in September 2015. The album was a masterpiece and it took him seven years to compose and arrange the tracks. It featured splendid collaborations from multi award winning artists AKA, Beatenberg, Khuli Chana and The Soil. TRESOR did a Freddy Verano Remix for the song ‘Mount Everest’ and the music video reached NUMBER ONE airplay in Italy. It also reached number one on the Global Shazam trending list, garnering a million views in 24 hours. The album ‘VII’ won Best Pop Album at the 2016 South African Music Awards and was also one of the most nominated albums.

TRESOR reached the peak of his career when he brokered a 7 figure multi-year record deal with Universal Music. The deal was recognized as one of the most lucrative record deals for a South African based artist. In 2017 Tresor dropped his highly anticipated sophomore album ‘The Beautiful Madness’. Upon its release the album received prime banner placement on iTunes South Africa, Japan, Italy, Australia and the USA. Popular on the album was the lead single ‘Remedy’. Tresor has performed to sold out audiences across the world and continues to deliver well produced music. He has written songs for Heavy K, Idols South Africa, and Zahara, among others. In 2019 he released singles including the hit ‘Sondela’ featuring Msaki.

In june 2020 the Pop star Tresor announced the release of his third album ‘Motion’ later this year. The album features songs like ‘Thril’ and ‘Zwakala’ which have already been released. Zwakala was sampled form Ray Phiri’s Stimela and has quickly gained acceptance. The video for ‘Thrill’ was released in June 2020 and the video for ‘Zwakala’ is expected to be out in August 2020.

Tresor Girlfriend
The pop star had been secretive of his life but in 2019 revealed he was dating Langa Mngoma. Langa is the gorgeous younger sister to singer Nandi Madida. She’s a qualified medical doctor and has been dating Tresor for two years. Tresor was introduced to Langa by her sister Nandi with whom Tresor is friends with. From there on they became friends and finally fell in love with each other.
