Trendy radio presenter Bujy disses Khutso Theledi’s accent
The trendy and comedic Bujy Bikwa dissed YFM’s Khutso Theledi’s accent during a session of his Podcast and Chill with Mac G. Besides throwing shade at Khutso, Bujy spoke about a lot of other issues involving radio politics in South Africa.
Touching on radio accents, Bujy said,
“As weird as it sounds, it appeals to the white market. Where do people get the accents guys? I think she will be great though.”
He further imitates Khutso’s accent during the podcast and it does not sound pretty well. Bujy and Mac G agree that Bonang is the one who started the trend of changing accents.
“It is a nice transition, and then she came back from Top Billing. For her it works but now every female on radio tries to pull that. It works for the white market. I think they enjoy having someone who speaks with that accent,” Bujy adds.

The popular DJ also talks about how to survive radio and how popularity has a positive correlation with prolonged existence on radio. He actually mentions that the more famous one is, he longer that person will stay on radio. Among other issues discussed during the podcast, Bujy condemns the competitive nature of colleagues at radio stations. He says the mentality to outshine each other is toxic and deters others from loving their work.
Bujy mentions he will be working on his podcast under Mac G and will touch on issues concerning gays and elevating LGBTQI community. He recently left Metro FM when his contract ended after working there for three good years. The Zimbabwean born media personality expects to do even bigger things with his new podcast he described as a “Queer lifestyle galore”.
