Philippe Coutinho will stay at Camp Nou says Joorabchian
Kia Joorabchian agent to Philippe Coutinho confirmed that the Brazilian star Philippe Coutinho will be staying at FC Barcelona putting to rest transfer speculations linking him to a shocking English Premiership League return.
The Brazilian star agent confirmed that Coutinho will be part of the Barcelona squad this season and has already joined the rest of the squad for pre–season training sessions.
Joorabchian indicated that the decision was concluded after the new Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman made it clear that the star was in his plans in the restructuring of Barcelona.
“He was set to return to the club on the 7th of September but he returned way too early because he didn’t want to lose his momentum and fitness.”
“All signs point to the fact Barcelona have changed quite dramatically, the way their philosophy of how they wanted to move forward from last year and the players they’ve brought in, like Coutinho, (Ousmane) Dembele and (Antoine) Griezmann, they’re all going to be part of the squad this year.”
Coutinho struggled to settle in Spain due to lack of game time and this forced him to settle for a loan with Bayern Munich, after his big-money transfer from English Premier League Champions Liverpool in 2018.
The Brazilian star enjoyed relative game time under German gaffer Hans-Dieter Flick and made headlines when he inflicted pain to his parental club Barcelona when he netted two quick successive goals and provided an assist when Munich thumped Barcelona 8-2 in the champions league last month.
The former Liverpool midfielder return to Barcelona has put to rest transfer speculations which were linking him to a shocking EPL return.
Big clubs such as Liverpool and Arsenal were said to be some of the clubs closely monitoring his situation.
