Level 4 lockdown set to kick in on the 1st of May.
Restrictions will be uplifted and controlled Level 4 lockdown will be implemented.
President Ramaphosa revealed that total lockdown cannot be sustained indefinitely.
“We cannot take action today that we will deeply regret tomorrow” – President.
“Beyond 30th April we should began a phased and gradual recovery of the economy” – President.
There are to be 5 risk levels. They will be in descending order of risk… 5 will be the most serious response needed, with level 1 the least serious. South Africa is currently at level 5
Ministers to provide detailed briefing of sectors and industries that will be opened/closed – President.
Form 1 May, South Africa will drop to a Level 4 in its #coronavirus response – President.
Ramaphosa: When we move to level 4 on May 1. Our borders will remain closed to international travel. No travel allowed between provinces. Public transport will operate with limited passengers.
Ramaphosa: All gatherings apart from work and funerals will remain prohibited.
