Tjovitjo, a South African drama series breaks new ground as it starts to be aired on Netflix. Directed by veteran Vincent Moloi, the drama series first aired on SABC 1 in August 20 2017.

Tjovitjo is centered on isipantsula, a dance, which has been a part of South African urban culture for decades since the 1950s, and still continues to reverberate across the world to this day.
Tjovitjo drama follows the dance group AmaTjovitjo and uses dance as an entry point to highlighting the plights faced by South Africa’s working class every day.
Director of the drama series Vincent Moloi revealed that Tjovitjo was an experimental project and opens doors for partners and actors who wish to join for season 2.
“This was intended to be an experimental project, but it became the most commercial project we’ve ever done. I’m excited that we are now sharing it with audiences across the continent, and the world. Deciding to stream on Netflix is the first step in collaborating with them especially as we prepare to produce another season of Tjovitjo”, Moloi said.
