A look at Zakes Bantwini’s booming music career

He signed L’vovo Derrango (Thokozani Ndlovu) under Mayonie productions and helped launch his career. They released his self-titled album in 2005, which was nominated for a SAMA award under the best Kwaito Album. Also, his album won best Kwaito and Song of the year awards at the MetroFM awards in 2007.
In 2013 he released his third album, The actual book and the fake book, My musical Bible, to critical acclaim. It snagged a nomination for the 20th SAMA awards under the best dance album category. In 2017 he released the second album instalment to Love, light and music in the form of Love, Light and Music 2.
Besides, his career has been peppered with many singles and work with various artists. He has worked with Black Coffee, his wife Nandi and the songstress Bucie. This shows his dedication to his craft and the flexibility in his work style. Currently, he is focusing on growing his music career and learning the business end of things within the music.
