There is a crisis in Zimbabwe, SA Education Minister Blade Nzimande says
South Africa’s Higher Education Minister Blade Nzimande says his party South African Communist Party (SACP) discussed Zimbabwe during its recent Central Committee meeting.
Speaking soon after his party’s Central Committee, Nzimande said his party expressed solidarity with the people of Zimbabwe.
The SACP observed that Zimbabwe was indirectly contributing to problems in South Africa and ending the Zimbabwean crisis would relieve South Africa of some of its headaches.
First of all the central committee expressed solidarity with the people of Zimbabwe, many of which were left with no option but to leave or flee the country. South Africa is host of them and there are many ways it is is being affected by the crisis in Zimbabwe. We are not talking of this just from the air.
Nzimande said one doesn’t need to to go to Zimbabwe but the northern country’s crisis is painted all over South Africa.
“The ascertains that there is no crisis in Zimbabwe are nothing but denial of the self evident truth, in fact you don’t have to go to Zimbabwe to see the crisis. You will only need to go to our own informal settlements here in South Africa to see how many Zimbabweans who should have good lives who need to make an honest living and had to come to Zimbabwe.
Nzimande said the SACP believes Zimbabweans should solve their problems back home without much interference but called upon SADC, the African Union and the international community to help Zimbabwe achieve its democracy and prosperity.
The people of Zimbabwe should independently solve the problems affecting their country, yes, but help by the SADC and the African Union is important and the international community.
