Themba Ndaba was born in Soweto, in the province of Gauteng. At a young age, his family relocated to Swaziland. This is where Themba grew up.

Themba started school in 1970 and wrote his matric at St Marks High School in 1982. He then migrated to Zimbabwe and studied Economics and Statistics the year after. He then went on to graduate with higher National Diploma in Business Studies with a distinction in Economics and Statistics from Harare Polytechnic in 1988.

Before his higher national diploma, he worked as a banker for a short stint in Harare. His interest in the arts was cultivated during his time at Sibikwa Drama School, Daveyton. He was assisting in English literature. He was also cultivating his writing prowess at the time.
Themba performed in the internationally acclaimed Kwela Bafana and DET Boys High productions. He went to perform across Europe during this period bringing to light the injustices of Apartheid in the 1950s. Themba then ventured into mainstream television. This resulted in him being part of the brain child team for Isidingo.
He then went on to use theater to communicate in the mining sector and unpack specialized corporate change management in advent of the new South Africa and working with communications companies. This later on led him to establishing the Award Winning ‘Vutha Advertising which handled a few of the most sorted accounts within the SA government and corporate sector such as Petro SA, SA Rugby etc. At its height the company was billing between R15m-R20m per annum.
Themba then went back to mainstream TV where he appeared on Soul City, Zone 14 and Hopeville. In 2011 he went on to win a Golden Horn Award for the Best Feature in a movie. He also bagged the 2011 Africa Movie Academy Awards for his lead role in Hopeville. Hopeville then went on to win the Rose D’Or Drama and Mini-Series Award in Switzerland. It also won an Emmy award.
On top of his acting, he is also a managing creative director at Visual Republic Media Creative agency.
At the current moment he is acting as the iconic Brutus on The Queen. Testament to his acting prowess, when there was rumors that he would leaving the queen, fans of the show actually threatened to stop watching. What is even more impressive is that he is not the main character and yet he seems to carry the show on his shoulders.
