Last weekend the South African Film and Television Awards were held, and many actors and television productions walked away with Awards. Among these were two The Wife actors, Abdul and Bonko Khoza, who got awards for their roles in the drama series. Their fellow actress on screen, Zikhona Sodlaka, has taken to social media to share a touching congratulatory message to Abdul and Bonko Khoza.
Their roles in The Wife
In the show, Zikhona Sodlaka plays Mandisa, who has a son, Ndumiso, with Nqoba, the second oldest Zulu brother. However, these two have their problems as Zikhona has been cohabiting with Nqoba for years, and he has not married her traditionally. It was only when she said Ndumiso was not a Zulu that Nqoba went and paid damages with his brothers. She feels the Zulu family does not appreciate her as they respect the other Zulu wives more and want to do right by the others and never her. Mandisa goes on to do some things out of anger, like burning bribe money to get Zandile out of jail.
Zikhona Sodlaka’s Instagram congratulatory message
The Wife cast is known in the country for being one of the actors as close in real life as they are in the drama series. While Abdul and Bonko Khoza take on the roles of two brothers, Nqoba and Mqhele, from the Zulu family, Zikhona takes on the role of Nqoba’s wife, Mandisa. The caption said that she knows a star when she sees one and says congratulations to the two actors.

Zikhona Sodlaka then says that she loves Bonko Khoza as her brother in the arts because of how his kindness to her will not go unseen. To Abdul Khoza, she also says he has her love and respect and goes on to toast to Infinity and beyond.
Abdul Khoza’s reaction and reply
In the comment section, Abdul calls her by her Ma ka Ndumiso which is her role in the series and goes on to humbly say that he has been nominated twice because of her. Abdul is grateful for how Zikhona took on her role as Mandisa and claims that this is why he then aced his role and got nominated for two different awards.
