The Wife actor Sandile ‘Kay Sibiya’ replaces Nkanyiso Mchunu as Nkululeko on Imbewu: The Seed
Celebrated star actor Nkanyiso Mchunu pulled a shocker when he revealed that he was bowing out of etvs drama series Imbewu: The Seed. The actor dumped his lead role of Nkululeko after salary woes. After being the lead actor of the drama series for months, the actor demanded a pay rise. However, close sources to the showrunners have it that the Nkanyiso and the showrunners disagreed on a new contract.
Confirmed reports have it that the actor has already stopped shooting his scenes but is wrapping up his exit scenes. He confirmed his exit on social media, and Mzansi couldn’t believe that it was true.
After joining the drama series in 2019, the bubbly actor quickly became the drama series face. However, it seems that former Generations actor Kay Sibiya is joining Imbewu: The Seed in the mix of things. The actor will play the role of Nkululeko, and this has seen the drama series trending.

What got Mzansi talking is that the two seem to have two different acting personalities for small screens. Well, maybe it’s a desperate call to clean up the mess before the drama series loses its plot.
However, the rumour mill has it that The Wife actor Kay Sibiya. The actor currently plays the on-screen character of Sandile in the Showmax telenovela alongside Mbali Mavimbela (Hlomu Zulu).
Kay Sibiya has been winning big since last year. He was part of the star-studded cast before switching the floor to The Wife’s Showmax series. However, the showrunners are yet to issue out their official statement regarding his new gig and when he will debut.
The drama series has witnessed a mass exodus of its star-studded cast in recent months. Nkanyiso Mchunu exited barely a few months after Muzi Mthabela dumped the show for Generations: The Legacy. Phindlie Gwala also left the show, and Buhle Samuels followed suit before debuting her Zandile gig.
