The River actress Lindiwe ‘Sindi Dlathu’ joins the star-studded cast of King Shaka. Celebrated actress Sindi Dlathu has bagged an international role in an upcoming American series titled King Shaka. She has been dupped as the next big thing on small screens.
She has been dupped as the goddess of small screens with an illustrious career spanning years. Of interest is that the Stained Glass Productions owner is part of the producers of the drama series and is said to be hand-picking some of the finest talents from Mzansi.
Dlathu is best known for her lead roles in Muvhango and The River. Currently, she is nailing her bubbly character of Lindiwe on the Mzansi Magic drama series The River with perfection. The serial is set to hit the cinema in 2023. However, despite it being hyped, many have since weighed with their two cents.
Many have it that it might overshadow the locally-produced Shaka Ilembe. She is the latest addition to the star-studded cast. Commentator Phil Mphela confirmed that the actress had been added to the cast. The series will be filmed in KwaZulu-Natal in October. It will premiere on Showtime in 2023. King Shaka producers add The River actress Lindiwe ‘Sindi Dlathu’ to their cast
South African seasoned actress Lerato Mvelase is set to play Mkabayi, an elder sister to King Shaka Zulu’s father in the series. The lead role of Shaka will be played by British actor Charles Babalola, famously known for his role in Black Mirror. South Africa’s famous Fear Factor Presenter Thapelo Mokoena also joins the cast of this prestigious production, but his role is yet to be announced.
Seasoned actor Warren Masemola, famously known for portraying Lentswe Mokethi, also landed a role in the drama series. Thando Dlomo, also known for her appearance in the documentary Oprahy Daughters, joins the cast.
According to the news, the series will be directed by American Director Antoine Fuqua, the director of The Equalizer. The script will be written by a Nigerian writer, showing the rise of the Zulu King to power and how he brought a lot of tribes together. Gugulethu Zuma is also part of the production team. She is the brains behind Uzalo, Durban Gen and eHostela.
