As the hit telenovela The Queen is ending, Vuyo Ngcukana took to his Instagram timeline to thank Ferguson Films for giving him the time to shine. The actor is grateful that he was allowed to flaunt his extraordinary acting skills to Mzansi as Schumacher. He also revealed that his character in The Queen moulded and developed his career. Taking to Instagram, he wrote;
The first time I truly felt like I belonged to the arts was after finishing a show in Makhanda at the Arts Festival in 2004, we got a standing ovation with a thunderous applause, I sobbed on the bus ride home because I knew that my character did something for someone that day.
So I made a silent promise to myself to carry on that mission for as long as I get work.
The past 7 years have given me a character that I have moulded and carefully crafted to connect, entertain and to be relatable to many ordinary people around the world.
I have enjoyed what Schumacher has done for many people who have been fans of the show, particularly those who started with us from the beginning and got to see the growth, I hope I have inspired the have-nots and brought hope to the underdogs, your greatness lies within.
I hope that this time together has taught us love,respect, tolerance and acceptance for the next person as they navigate their journey in life, may the next group of artist that emerge enjoy the same kindness and generosity you have shown me as Schumacher, Ndiyabulela ♥️🙏🏾
Vuyo has been on The Queen since it was first aired in 2016 and has kept Mzansi glued to their screens for seven years. However, he was once rumoured to have been fired, but it turned out that his character was on a break. He later returned to the screens, and we can all agree that he did justice in his role as Schumacher on The Queen.
The Queen is ending this week, and its followers are heartbroken as their favourite show wont be airing. However, rumours say that Ferguson Films will drop new soapies and series this year. The production company has confirmed that Kings of Joburg season 2 will air on Netflix on the 27th of January.
