Age, Education and Upbringing
On the 16th of August 1983 Stevel Marc was born to Jasmine Williams and Carlton McDonald. He grew up in Portland, Jamaica where he was born. Stevel attended Titchfield Highschool and was named Mr Titchfield in 2000 when he was 16.
Stevel Marc Career
Marc started his career very early into his life. In 2000 when Stevel was 16, he was signed to Dwight Peters of Saint International Model Agency with him being crowned Mr Titchfield that year seeming like a confirmation of his talent. He left Jamaica for his first gig in New York and soon enough he modelled in South Africa. Marc has modelled in Asia, Europe, North America and of course in Africa but it seems there is something about South Africa that has drawn him to the country so much so that he settled in South Africa. Once he settled in South Africa Marc signed to Ice Model Management. His unique background stood out and soon enough he appeared in commercials for brands such as Revlon (featuring Halle Berry and Eva Mendes), Coca Cola, KFC, Nescafé, Standard Bank, Nashua Mobile and the South African Broadcasting Corporation.
Seeing that Stevel Marc is a man of many talents it does not come as a surprise that he ventured into being a voice-over artist. Marc was so successful that he worked with names like Samsung Mobile, Budweiser, Malibu Caribbean Rum, Toyota, Highveld Stereo, Pigg’s Peak Casino, Standard Band and the South African Tourism Board to name a few. No part of the entertainment industry was off limits to the model and of course he ventured into acting.
Marc had already begun working on his acting at the Johannesburg Civic Theatre, and in 2008, he enrolled at the New York Film Academy and TVI Actors Studio in Los Angeles, California to study and complete his study of film and acting. His first feature film debut was a success; Of Good Report won 13 awards, and received international acclaim. His hard work spoke for him and enabled him to move on to roles in: The Triangle in 2005 and My Zulu Promise and the Challenger Disaster in 2013. 2014 was his busiest acting year with him landing roles in The King’s Rock, Anything for Wifey, Hometown, Trinity, and Adaption.
In 2019 Stevel starred in a series called “The Professionals,” where he plays an Intelligence Officer named Tyler “Trig” Raines. The show is diverse and is represented by an impressive ensemble of South African stars. Stevel has taken the lead in 9 out of 10 episodes shot. Marc’s latest role is ‘Vuyo’ in 1Magic’s “Unmarried” which also available in Showmax. His character is said to believe he is God’s gift to the female species. Vuyo is as charming, as he is arrogant and he knows how to use that to his advantage. He stars alongside Thembisa Mdoda, Keke Mphuthi and Renate Stuurman. Marc has guest starred in include The Triangle, Generations, My Super-Overactive Imagination, Hooten & the Lady and Black Sails.
Much like Vuyo, Marc knows how to get the ladies and has a book out on how to get the ladies too for all those struggling gents. The book is called “The Refines Player: Sex, Lies and Dates”.
