Starstruck, Watch as Uncle Waffles gets a proposal from a fan; Mzansi applauds her humbleness
Uncle Waffles has had the fastest rising career in a long time, and her fame just blew up. Fans all over the world want a piece of her action. The international DJ’s influence has grown substantially, and it’s normal for all that fame to come with fans that look up to her and young fans who have a crush on her. This was the case with a young man who got captured on camera trying to get Uncle Waffles’ attention and proposing to her.
In the video shared on Twitter, a high school boy kneeled like a man who wanted to propose as he called out to Uncle Waffles. The DJ, walking from the car, turned around and showed an expression of amazement before shyly going over to the boy. She accepted whatever was in his hand before greeting him, and both of them shyly walked away to the screams of many school children.

Waffles has a considerable following, and even fans are fighting to get a glimpse of her on her shows internationally and not just in South Africa. Her fan base has both sexes claiming to have a crush on the DJ ever since she came out, and that did not stop her winning streak. On social media, she has many fans wanting to take videos and pictures with her and star-struck.

Twitter had mixed opinions on the video of the young man who proposed to the DJ jokingly. Although many have said the boy is probably one of those guys who are goofy and play a lot in class, others have applauded Uncle Waffles for her response. Uncle Waffles could have ignored him, but she took her time to acknowledge her fan, which took a lot of humility. The DJ is famous for always wanting to interact with her fans, and Mzansi hopes she never changes.
Uncle Waffles’ rapid rise to fame
Waffles blew up when her videos perfoming Young Stunna’s song Adiwele went viral, and she started getting more bookings. In less than a year, she has visited more countries than other celebrities and is always on tours out of South Africa. To show that she has the talent for producing sound and not just playing it, Waffles released her debut EP and one of the songs, Tanzania went viral on all platforms.
