Spanish Princess Maria Teresa of Bourbon-Parma has become the first member off a royal family to succumb to covid-19. The pandemic is affecting everyone from all walks of life.
The 86-year-old princess was the cousin of Spanish King Felipe VI. Her brother, the Duke of Aranjuez, announced her death via a Facebook post. Her funeral will be held on Friday in Madrid.
“On this afternoon… our sister Maria Teresa de Borbon Parma and Borbon Busset, a victim of the coronavirus COVID-19, died in Paris at the age of eighty-six,” he posted.
Theresa was born on July 28, 1933. She became known as the Red Princess because of her activism.
Another powerful member of the royal family to have contracted covid-19 is Charles, Prince of Wales. Prince Charles is the heir apparent to the British crown. He is the oldest and longest serving heir apparent in the British royal family. Charles is 71 years old.
