South Africans react to Somizi stealing Dinner at Somizi’s idea
South Africans woke to realise Somizi is at the centre of a storm that could change how people perceive him as he was accused of stealing an idea, Dinner at Somizi’s.
For starters, the Idols SA judge and media personality recently launched his cook show Dinner at Somizi’s and has so far hosted the likes of DJ Zinhle, Jub Jub and Cassper Nyovest.
In the show, Somizi takes his hosts to his kitchen, and shows them the ingredients he is going to use while explain in detail.
He cooks in their presence while chit chatting candid conversations and enjoying themselves along the way.
Somizi serves the meal and the show ends after dinner. Mzansi loves the show for its uniqueness and openness of the conversations as it is not a normal interview set up.

In a twist of events, Somizi has been accused of stealing the idea that was pitched to him by Hastings Moeng.
The media personality is still to respond to the accusations but South Africans have already put him through the court of public opinion.
One Tweep named Pontso said its nothing new as celebrities are always stealing from the poor people
This not something new…celebrities or whatever they call themselves always stealing poor people’s ideas and hard work in pretence of helping only for the master mind to be sidelined and labeled a lazy jealous somebody…So man Somizi fix yourself, he posted on Twitter
Others feel the story will meet a dead end because Somizi is too big in the industry and is loved. One Ms beautiful posted;
If it was a white man who stole the idea people would b marching as we speak. SA would b burning! But because its Somizi, tomorrow this conversation will be dead & we’ll all b going on with our lives as if nothing happened. Lala ngenxeba Moeng! Idea Hambile, hambile
Many others have castigated Somizi and called him all sorts of names, while others have been posting abusive comments.
I remember hearing that Somizi has an ancestor that’s providing him with his concepts but it appears like the #DinnerAtSomizis was stolen, does this mean That ancestor is a tsotsi? another asked.
Other have equated Somizi to ANC with corruption being the common problem between the two.
