Let’s face it, celebrities are as good as their last job, and if that job was great, then they have fans for life.
Sometimes though, even an excellent track record is not good enough, and celebrities themselves could be their own worst enemy.
Let’s count down celebrities who had a hand in destroying their careers.
Molemo Jub Jun Maarohanye
Jub Jub has been in the entertainment industry ever since he was just a child. Everyone started falling in love with him when he appeared in that super successful Coca Cola advert with Doctor Khumalo.
The minute we laid eyes on young Molemo, we knew he had arrived. He had that rare star quality, and you don’t just pick up anywhere. He was cast for a second version of the Coke advert the following year with more Soccer stars. That advert was even more successful, and it won him an award.
Jub Jub grew a hard following as he kept growing; he started venturing into music and released Ndikhokhele, a gospel song mixed with a hip hop sound. That song went on to be one of the best songs of 2007.

Jub Jub was attracting all sorts of great things in his life, and then it happened.
On 8 March 2010, a group of kids were hit by Jub Jub and his friend Themba Tshabalala’s cars racing in a residential area in Protea Glen. The accident killed four children and injured two. Jub Jub and his friend served four years in jail; he was released on parole in 2017. Jub Jub started regaining his fame yet again when he landed a job at Moja love as the presenter of Uyajola 99. Jub Jubs star power took the show to greater heights, but in December 2021, Jub Jub messed up again. He got suspended over inappropriate comments on Podcast and Chill with MacG.
Pitch Black Afro
Pitch Black Afro, whose real name is Thulane Ngcobo, became a sensation in South Africa for his quirky voice and mixing Hip Hop and Kwaito. DJ Cleo discovered pitch Black Afro from performing on the Rap activity Jam on YFM. His first album, Styling Gel, was released in 2004 and became the best South African Hip Hop album for years.
In 2006 he was accused of assaulting one of his fans and damaging property. Pitch Black Afro was imprisoned for allegedly murdering his wife on 31 December 2018.

Brickz
DJ Cleo also discovered Brickz. His first album, Face Brick, is legendary. He released many albums after that, which were also very successful. Brickz made music to last he was legit. Some of his music won him awards.
Brickz is currently serving time in jail on accusations of Rape. He was found guilty of raping his relative in 2013 and was sentenced to 15 years behind bars.

V Mash
Vinolia Mashego was a well-known actress and one of the most sought after entertainers in South Africa. As she was known to her fans, V Mash would mostly be remembered for hosting the youth hit show on SABC1 called Jam Alley.

She was a great entertainer, and then one day, she was caught walking around in public naked and incoherent. This tainted her image, so baby, she completely disappeared from the entertainment industry. V Mash tried to regain her Fame again, but the ship had sailed. She passed away in April of 2020.
