Ben Kruger was a veteran actor, writer and producer, known for his role in Binnelanders on kykNET(DStv 144)died from Covid-19 complications. He dies at the age of 64. Kruger was known for his role as Okkie Ferreira in the weekday Afrikaans soap Binnelanders, produced by Stark Films and as teacher Christo de Wet in Skooldae. He was born in 1957 and took part in various radio plays, advertisements and stage plays. Kruger is also featured in drama series like Zero Tolerance, 7de Laan, Generations and Jacob’s cross.
Steve Kekana
Steve Kekana was a South African singer and songwriter. He began his career in the 1990s. The Legendary died at the age of 62 after testing positive for Covid-19.
The artist lost his sight at five years and attended school for the blind in Pietersburg, where he natured his love for singing. The award-winning musician recorded more than 40 albums during his career

Lieb Bester was a South African actor and musician. he was best known for his role as Frits Retief in the kykNET soap opera, Villa Rosa. The veteran actor and musician died at 72 years shortly after he battled Covid-19 twice. He was hospitalised twice for Covid-19 and during his second hospitalization on 3 July and the legendary could not make it alive. Lieb was also a musician and played the piano, the organ, guitar, concertina and accordion.
Shona Ferguson was an executive producer and co-founder of Ferguson films alongside his wife Connie Ferguson. However, Shona died at the age of 47. Shona died at Milpark hospital due to Covid-19 related complications. The actor is well known for appearing in Rockville, The Queen and The wild. In 2020 Shona made his Netflix debut, partnering with the streaming voice on the sixth series Kings of Joburg.
