No doubt Somizi is trending for the wrong reasons of late. The now axed Idols SA judge finds himself trending in the backdrop of The Braai Show invitation. The new revamped season 2 show will see Somizi being one of the four guests to feature on the show.
Well, Mzansi has weighed into the matter with its two cents. Viewers are not happy with his return to small screens because they thought cancels culture was in full effect.
Cancel culture in simple terms, means that when a prominent person gets caught up in a scandal, which is largely influenced by Gender-Based Violence of all sorts, they have to have their privileges stripped away.
These include their sources of income, their media presence and so forth. Basically, the celebrity should be cancelled in other words, they should not be celebrated anymore.
Tweeps thought that Somizi Mhlongo would get the exact same treatment and get cancelled. Well, all was “going well” when Metro FM, Idols SA and Bathu elbowed Somizi, however, when he was announced as one of the guests on the Braai Show, social media went on a frenzy.

Phil Mphela announced that former Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi, beauty and make-up influencer Mihlali Ndamase, music superstar Makhadzi, Somizi Mhlongo and iconic actor Presley Chweneyagae are going to be the first guests on Cassper’s show. Phil Mphela tweeted:

Somizi and MultiChoice are also caught up in plagiarism controversy over allegations that the concept for the Dinner at Somizi’s TV series was allegedly copied from another creative, Hastings Moeng.
