Sjava Joins Uzalo As Jombigazi The Hitman
Musician Sjava is set to make a return to television screens after it was announced that he had joined Uzalo.
The announcement was made by entertainment blogger Phil Mphela on Twitter.
Sjava has appeared on SABC 1’s Zone 14 where he played the character of Zonke a soccer player.
Savanna News has learnt that Sjava has already started shooting for his role as Jombigazi, a hitman linked to Nkunzi and Mageda. This means he will be seen on SABC 1 every weekday at 8:30 pm.
The BET Award winner has also starred in Isibaya before he made a name as a musician.
Sjava was previously signed under Ambitiouz record label where he left this year and announced about his own record label called “1020 cartel” just a few weeks ago.
The musician has previously starred in several local drama series and a few films, including uGugu no Andile.
In uGugu no Andile (Gugu and Andile), Sjava played the role of Mandla Dlamini in 2008, which was part of the channel’s “Shakespeare in Mzansi” strand.
Sjava also appeared in Generations The Legacy as well. On Generations The Legacy, Sjava acted as a dope fiend selling steroids to MJ; played by Anga Makubalo. It was on the set of Generations and meeting Anga that inspired Sjava to focus on his music career, owing to the fact that Anga is also a musician and an actor.
Last year, Sjava was romantically linked to songstress Lady Zamar. In the wake of the debacle, Lady Zamar penned a lengthy Twitter thread, in which she detailed her pain and made allegations of abuse.
Sjava broke his silence on November 1, 2019. He took to social media to say: “I am aware of the false allegations relating to abuse and assault contained in tweets by Yamikani Banda (Lady Zamar) on 29 October 2019 and the media articles based on those allegations. On the advice of my legal advisers, I am pursuing the matter through formal legal channels.”
