Sjava was born in Bergville , KwaZulu Natal in South Africa on the 2nd of December 1984. He is the third born to his mother Thandi Nkabinde after his siblings Sibusiso and Sindy Hadebe. Although Sjava is able to sing in other languages he is a Zulu.
Education and Qualifications
Jabulani Hadebe A.K.A Sjava completed his primary education in KwaZulu Natal. Thereafter, his family moved to Johannesburg where he was enrolled at a high school. After completing high school Sjava did not pursue education but rather began working at the taxi rank.
Sjava on Zone 14, Career
Sjava’s journey to success can only be summarized by the phrase, “from rags to riches.” He came from a struggling family as his father dumped his mother, and she became a vendor at a taxi rank to feed her children. For this and more, he dedicated his hit song umama to his mother Thandi Nkabinde. Jabulani Hadebe auditioned for an acting role in the Mzansi TV show Zone 14 which he landed and from that moment he kept on shining.

It was a childhood dream to be a musician for Sjava and the dream slowly came to life from composing jingles for TV shows to making award-winning albums. His music career began when he got signed under Ambitiouz Entertainment which at the time was home to the likes of Miss Pru Dj, A Reece and Emtee. After several conflicts this year Sjava finally left Ambitious Entertainment to join Emtee and Saudi in the trio’s African Trap Movement. He is set to release an album later this year under his new management.

1020 Cartel
Sjava collaborated with producer and sound engineer Mfanafuthi Ruff Nkosi to launch a new record label 1020 Cartel. This comes a few months after Sjava dumped Ambitiouz Entertainment. The duo teamed up with Nothando Migogo of Sosela Legal and Advisory to establish 1020 Management, the operations, and strategy arm of the 1020 group. On the 31st of July 2020, the label introduces the four new artists signed to the 1020 Cartel stable, namely vocalist Yallunder, rapper Anzo, poet Nue_Sam and maskhandi artist Mzukulu. 1020 Cartel also revealed 28th August 2020 as the launch date of their album ‘Isambulo’ which means Revelation and it brings first pieces of lyrics from the signed artists.

Sjava Joins Uzalo As Jombigazi The Hitman
Musician Sjava is set to make a return to television screens after it was announced that he had joined Uzalo. Sjava has appeared on SABC 1’s Zone 14 where he played the character of Zonke a soccer player. Savanna News has learnt that Sjava has already started shooting for his role as Jombigazi, a hitman linked to Nkunzi and Mageda. This means he will be seen on SABC 1 every weekday at 8:30 pm.

The ‘ngempela’ hit maker had secretly been dating Lady Zamar from 2017 but their relationship finally became known late 2019 when the couple was on the verge of breaking up. When the relationship finally surfaced, the couple had a nasty break up as Lady Zamar accused Sjava of raping her. This controversy set twitter on flames late last year. It was however revealed at his ‘A night with Sjava’ show, that Sjava is married. The women his is married to was only addressed to the public as ‘makhoti’ by his mother on stage. To date the lady’s real name has not yet been revealed.
