DBN Gogo comes from a well connected and influential family. Some of her followers on social media believe she is the wealthiest artist in South Africa. One would’ve never guessed it as most people from families like hers choose to follow careers where they’ll carry on family legacies. She decided on a musical career instead, music in the amapiano genre. Art was more important to her.
DBN Gogo’s Parents
DBN Gogo’s real name is Mandisa Radebe. Her mother is Bridgette Radebe, one of Mzansi’s most successful female black entrepreneurs. She is a mining giant, just like her billionaire brother Dr Patrice Motsepe. Her mother is Bridgette, and her father is Jeff Radebe. Jeff Radebe is the Khuza Gogo hit maker’s father; if you look at the two very closely, you’ll see they look very alike. Jeff is one of Mzansi’s most influential political figures. He is also the Minister of Energy, appointed president Cyril Ramaphosa in 2018.
DBN Gogo’s Uncles
Since the amapiano DJ’s mother is Bridgette Radebe, her uncle is the mining and banking giant Patrice Motsepe. Her other famous uncle in politics is South Africa’s president Cyril Ramaphosa.
Recent relationship reveal
She recently revealed that she’s romantic with Ke Star hitmaker Focalistic. After the revelation nobody reasonably anticipated, some tweeps accused Focalistic of being with the Khuza Gogo DJ for her families wealth. However, she and her boyfriend do not mind haters and general assumptions about them.
Misconceptions about the hitmaker
Since her stage name has ‘ Gogo’, which means grandmother, people have assumed she is a traditional healer. Most traditional healers used the word Gogo as a prefix before using the names of their ancestors. Her love for beads and her tattoos in traditional names also fueled the misconception.
Since she’s also from a well-connected family, people assume she got her musical success through connections. Of course, this is not true as she’s constantly proven, she’s a good DJ, and she’s concealed who her family members are for the longest time.
