We then moved to Mutare then Harare but most of my years were in Mutare because my dad is from Mutare,” Sha Sha mentions in a podcast interview on Youtube.

Just by mentioning her Zimbabwean descent, people get curious as to how Sha Sha managed to reach the world stage. Sha Sha never took her singing really seriously despite being good at it however, her dream comes to life when she is noticed by a CEO of a radio station, who hooks her up with Audius Mtawarira. Only after she joined a choir that her talent was discovered which led to her taking piano lessons. “When I started sing in Mutare it was just a hobby. My main focus was applying to be a nurse but that wasn’t working well….” she said in an interview.
Sha Sha’s Rise to fame
While staying with an aunt in Harare, she pursues her music by performing at free gigs at the same time working as a waitress and then as a receptionist. However, in 2017, a cab driver hooked her up with DJ Maphorisa who was blown away. This was the beginning of Sha Sha’s music career.
