Blackbrain just announced the return of Ses’Top La season 5! Ses’Top La is one of the most successful sitcoms in SABC1. The series came as a spinoff to City Ses’La.
Ses’Top La focuses on two lovers, Themba and Phumzile, whose strange and quirky relationship delivers some of the best comedy seen on TV. The couple is surrounded by friends who are the soul of the series and add valuable spice to the story.
Ses’Top La last aired on SABC1 years ago and was still playing as reruns on the Chanel, pulling in viewers.
The owner of Blackbrain, Mandla N, will return as the lead character, Themba and Warren Masemola, who plays the flamboyant Thoko us also coming back Trevor Gumbi comes back as Gideon. There is one significant change, though, the character of Phumzile, who is Thembas wife, is no longer played by Busi Lurayi and will now be played by Neliswa Mchunu, who was in Uzalo and played the very glamorous Fikile. This will not be a challenging role to play for her.
The production started shooting last year in 2021, and apparently, they shot two seasons in a row. That means we won’t be waiting for long after season 5 goes off the air for season 6.
Ses’ Top la saw the transition of Themba and Phumzile from a young couple to a grown married one with a child. The character of Themba’s child will be played by the famous star child named Valdo. Many of the faces that we know and love will also be in the show, some from the previous shows and some new ones.
Blackbrain delivered the news on their socials, and they are as excited as we are.
As we know that Blackbrain was on the road recently searching for new talent, and they just finished the Joburg leg on Sunday, it just goes to show that these guys are hard at work this year.
According to the post on social media, Ses’Top la is coming to our screens very soon, so get ready, people.
