TV lovers will be excited to learn that Sello Maake KaNcube, Lorraine Moropa, Sphamandla Dhludlu will be returning to our screens. They are set to star in a new show called The Station.
It’s the season of new tv shows and the SABC is not to miss out on all the fun. In the works is a tv series called The Station. While the title is a working title and might change, the series is to be expected later in the year. Starring in The Station is veteran actor Sello Maake KaNcube, Lorraine Moropa and Sphamandla Dhludlu.
Sello Maake KaNcube will also be executive producer of the show. The veteran actor has been on our screens for decades with some of his more recent roles being Kgosi on The Queen and the Mokoena’s uncle, Uncle Sechaba on The River. His role as Archie Moroka on the SABC soapie, Generations will always be regarded as some of his best work. The actor also played the troublesome Lucas “Daniel” Nyathi on Scandal. The actor also had a stint on the returning Ferguson series, Rockville. The actor has also been in international productions having performed in the UK and USA among other countries.
Lorraine Moropa is a South African actress whose big break came with the role of Pabi on Lithapo. She is also popular for her role as Dimpho on Guilt. The actress got her big breakthrough two years after graduating. “After graduating last year, I did not expect to get such a big role. I take it as a blessing that I did not have to sit for too long before getting this break”. She has also featured in various plays, Sophiatown, U’Yabizwa and The Hat.
Sello Maake KaNcube, Lorraine Moropa, Sphamandla Dhludlu cast in new series
Sphamandla Dhludlu joins the show having been on our screens for a number of years. He made his debut with his role as Themba, Suffocate’s brother on Rhythm City. He also has a recurring role on The River. The actor also featured on Umlilo and Generations: The Legacy. Sphamandla also bagged a lead role in the movie Rise, alongside his multiple theatre roles.
While there hasn’t been much in the way of details regarding the series, one can surely expect an impressive performance with the star studded cast.
