Bongani Fassie, son of the late Afro-pop queen Brenda Fassie, is on a mission to uncover the truth behind the disappearance of R25 million from his mother’s estate. In a shocking revelation to Sunday World, Bongani disclosed that one of the executors sold his mother’s publishing rights for a mere R1 million, which vanished without a trace.
Bongani accuses Lance Stehr of embezzling his mother’s estate
Brenda Fassie’s son has pointed fingers at Lance Stehr, owner of Muthaland Entertainment and Bongani’s former legal guardian, accusing him of embezzlement. With determination and resolve, Bongani is not backing down until he uncovers the truth about the missing millions.
In an interview with Drum last year, after Lance Stehr threatened to sue Bongani for R6m for accusing him of giving him drugs, Bongani also alleged that Stehr was involved in the embezzlement of his mother’s estate.
Stehr is the owner of Muthaland Entertainment, the record label Bongani was signed to.
“Lance was involved in my mom’s estate. That got wound up, it was finalised and everything.
“I want to find out where my R25 million went to. He has got a fight coming. Lance was my legal guardian, self-appointed, and it wound up to 11 years.
“There are so many irregularities to this and I am not backing down either. Also, where am I supposed to get R6 million?”
