Scara Chilli Ya Baba Report Mapara A Jazz For Stealing John Vuli Gate
Scara Chilli Ya Baba has come out guns blazing accusing John Vuli Gate duo Mapara A Jazz of stealing the song from them.
Ndivhuwo Nephawe (26) who is member of Scara Chilli Ya Baba has accused his brother and member of Mapara A Jazz McMillan “Man” Malaya of stealing John Vuli Gate. Ndivhuwo said Malaya and Leonard “Lenny Sbechu” Malatji stole the track when they visited Scara Chilli Ya Bababers’ studio in July this year.
In an interview with Daily Sun, Ndivhuwo said when the other members of Scara Chilli Ya Baba heard John Vuli Gate they almost fought with him because they thought he had given his brother the track. He said after this they will not allow Mapara A Jazz near their studio again.
Fellow Scara Chilli Ya Baba group member Dominic “Matanta” Baloyi (46) told the paper that Mapara A Jazz stole their beat concept and the file with the vocals. Dominic said they wrote the song with Ntosh Gazi adding that Mapara A Jazz is in the limelight because of their song. He urged Mapara A Jazz to stop performing the song and claiming it as their own creation. Scara Chilli Ya Bababers has engaged the services of a lawyer to help them with the issue.
Ntosh Gazi real name, Ntokozo Soko, said that he came up with the concept for John Vuli Gate. He said he was supposed to collaborate with Scara Chilli Ya Baba and Mapara A Jazz on the song. Ntosh said he made the song trend because of his popularity.
In response, Mapara A Jazz member Man Malaya said his brother’s group were bitter and jealous of the success of John Vuli Gate. He said the song was theirs although they had recorded the track at Scara Chilli Ya Baba’s studios.
Gauteng police spokesman Captain Mavela Masondo confirmed that Scara Chilli Ya Baba opened a theft case against Mapara A Jazz at Olievenhoutbosch Police Station.
