Scandal’s Thabo Malema talks about playing the villain Bohang
Seasoned actor Thabo Malema recently bowed out of Scandal with a bang after playing the notorious villain Bohang. Malema exited Scandal through death after he was shot point-blank by Lerumo after a scuffle implicating Tibi and Sepati.
Thabo Malema opened up about his recent villainous role. He is that actor we love to hate despite him being irritating. No doubt his splendid acting made him join the list of the most hated villains after Dustbinman and Mthunzi.
Taking it to the media Malema who played the role of captain Bohang reviewed that it was an incredible journey for him despite the hate and love.
Speaking in an interview with Daily Sun Malema had this to say.
“Playing Bohang has been incredible and I’m enjoying every minute of it. The show’s viewers have been showing me love and I appreciate them. My character brings a new dimension to the show, because it portrays someone’s reality somewhere. The storyline is educational and edgy. I love what I do and I appreciate that people see my passion.”

However, in a Q and A session with the Citizen publication, he revealed that he didn’t like his on-screen character that much because of its pretentious, abusive and vindictive nature.
“Bohang is a wolf in sheep’s clothing, a master at hiding his true intentions, a true emotional manipulator and that’s far from who I am as Thabo Malema. Bohang is a jealous ticking time bomb. I do however appreciate the lessons coming from this story line, our country has been facing the biggest issue around gender-based violence GBV and I do feel this particular story line will teach and open people’s eyes to an abuser mindset.”
Malema studied at the South African School of Motion Picture Medium and Live Performance (AFDA).
