Joyce Skefu plays the character of Maletsatsi on the famous soapie. Scandal shared the news that she was hospitalized after suffering a minor stroke.
Joyce is pictured in a hospital bed, waiting to get her physical therapy. Joyce explained to her followers how the health scare had affected her, saying she hadn’t been on social media to engage her fans due to her illness.
Joyce Skefu will be turning 58 years old in April. The actress has been in the show business for over four decades.
She is mainly known for her role as Doris on Muvhango. Joyce made her character on Muvhango iconic by using the catchphrase ” You Must Never”.
Joyce then went to play the character of Maletsatsi in Scandal. She has been Maletsatsi since 2005. Maletsatsi cane into the Soapie as a prostitute but later fell in love with a Journalist named Eddie. She went on to star on Mzansi Magic’s Abomama and many more.
The news of her stroke shocked everyone. In her Instagram post she thanked everyone for sending their prayers to her. She acknowledged that people did not know that she had been sick.
She said she had been going through therapy and is now getting better.
Some of her colleagues took to the comment section to express their shock and well wishes.
Gail Mabalane, who acted along with Joyce in the second season of The Imposter series, expressed her love for her.
Stha Kgoroge and Angela Sithole are also amongst some of her industry sisters who wished her a speedy recovery.
Joyce Skefu’s health scare comes as the industry has been going through a very dark cloud since the year began. At the beginning of the year, a legendary actor Patric Shai lost his life to suicide and shocked everyone. Many celebrities have followed him after that, including Kuli Roberts, who died from a fatal fit and recently Ricky Rick.
She mentioned that she is getting the best treatment and expects everything to go back to normal soon.
