Hackers seem to be working around the clock trying to milk some money from celebville. Shauwn Mkhize announced a scammer hacked her Whatsapp number. Whoever hacked her number is sending messages to her contacts asking them to send an e-Wallet to a South African number. Since Shauwn is with her son Andile abroad, the opportunist tried using her absence in Mzansi to their advantage.
Shauwn Mkhize announces she has been hacked
Shauwn did not take the hacking lightly at all. Although she’s busy touring in America supporting his Ubala singing son, she immediately announced the alarming news on her Instagram stories on her Instagram timeline. Of course, none of her money is being targeted, but she’s protecting the pockets of her loved ones. Shaun Stylist posted the news on his Instagram stories and urged people with MaMkhize’s 079 number not to send any money to the scammer. Fans are shocked by the word, and it’s pretty clear that criminals don’t rest in Mzansi.
Second celeb to be hacked
Earlier on, vocalist and hitmaker Nomcebo Zikode announced her number was hacked. With Nomcebo, the hacker reportedly did the same thing done to MaMkhize. Celebs like Mome and Noncebo’s fans shared their concerns for their singer. What upset Nomcebo the most about this happened so unexpectedly, and there is no way she could’ve prevented it.
Who’s next?
It seems like someone is hard at work trying to scam close celebrity circles. A scammer or a syndicate of scammers is currently targeting celeb friends. With so much crime in this country, this trend could follow and attack ordinary people. People should be wary and exercise caution out there. If one is asked to send money by their contact, it’s wise to call and confirm before making a transaction.
Now that the news of the scammer is circulating, people will have their eyes and ears opened. However, celebrities who haven’t heard the news could discover they were hacked after their contacts have sent money to the scammers.
