Thapelo has shown Mzansi flames with his angelic voice and fantastic stage presents. Each time he is on the stage, he mopes the floor with his unique vocals, and Mzansi has already labelled him the winner of Idols SA season 18. However, although Thapelo has garnered a legion of fans, it’s the votes of Mzanzi that will allow him to win. In the latest episode of Idols SA, the show announced its top 5 contestants. Fortunately, Thapelo had secured enough votes to qualify him in the top 5. His fans were optimistic that their favourite Thapalo has qualified for the next round, and SA Police Service SAPS also acknowledged the talent of their fellow police officer and shared on their Twitter that they are proud of him and wish him well on his journey.

The news that Thapelo is a qualified police officer took social media by storm. Many never imagined the sassy and talented Thapelo in the police force. A Twitter user commented:
I love the fact that Thapelo has to swallow his pride and police warrant to pursue his dream in the music industry woo. It’s like he knew he is a super star and he could not let his talent vanish like that.
Thapelo’s performance on the latest episode of Idols SA
Last Sunday, Thapelo was the third to be announced among the top 5. He performed two songs, and he brought fantasy to the stage. His first staging was Boyz II Men’s “End of the road”, judged as the night’s performance. He nailed the song to perfection, Somgaga glorified his performance with a big Whooo Shameee, and the audience gave him a standing offering.
After perfoming his “end of the road” duet, Thapelo was already topping the trends on Twitter, as many praised his skills.
For his second evening performance, Thapelo got funky as he performed “Sponky Ponky” by Baywte and Jabu Khanyile. The judges and the audience were left speechless by his performance, and Thembi Seete pointed out that Thapelo had chosen great songs for the night.
