On Generations The Legacy, Lucy Diale character is a gangster, shabeen owner married to Mrekza Makhafola – Kope Makgae. As the eldest sibling of the Diale family, Lucy goes all the way to make sure food is on the table and always dominate her younger brother Cosmo (Ronnie Nyakale) in decision making. Like most women, Lucy reached menopause and couldn’t bear children for Mrekza. The couple opted for adoption through Mamsonto’s orphanage; they adopted Mbali (Ditebogo Ledwaba), a school going teenager. Known as the shabeen queen or queen of Alex, Manaka Ranaka is one of the top paid cast members on Generations; her salary amounts to R 95 000 per month.
The two actresses play different roles, but they are celebrated in Gomora (Alex Township) across the storylines. On Gomora, Gladys Dlamini’s character is a celebrated social worker married to Principal Melusi Dlamini and mother to Ntokozo (Ntobeko Sishi).
