Tsephang Mohlomi plays the role of Khathide on Uzalo, the SABC 1 soap opera. Having debuted television as a child star in 2011 on Izulu lami, where he played Chili Bite, Tsephang scooped the Best Supporting Actor at the South African Film and Television Awards 2011 edition.

Khathide on Uzalo
He recently appeared on Uzalo as a prisoner who MaMlambo (Gugu Gumede) recognized from the past. Khathide had a sneaky conversation with MaMlambo and narrated how he had to survive, turning to drugs after his Maphumulo family dispersed, including brother Mastermind. MaMlambo got moved by Khathide’s story and offered to shelter him after his prison release temporarily. Despite being warned by suspicious Detective Mondli about Khathide, MaMlambo turned a blind, defended him and overtrusted him. Her plan to offer Khathide a second choice backfired after he turned MaMlambo’s house into a drug den.

After his prison release, Khathide got hooked with old bosses who hooked him to distribute the famous Red Pill drug, which flooded the streets of KwaMashu. Adverse effects of the Red Pill triggered interest from the police, who went full force to apprehend perpetrators behind the drug distribution. Mondli and his police team arrested Khathide’s foot soldier Mduduzi, and MaMlambo set to get implicated as an accomplice. He keeps on threatening and blackmailing MaMlambo after his housemate busted his drug distribution business.
Khathide’s arrest will resurrect Mastermind back on Uzalo. According to Tuesday 4 January 2022 teasers, Mastermind plays his last card to sort jailed Khathide out.
